The voice of the woods: the story of Decimo
Once upon a time, in the Chiampo district, there was a very special boy: he was the youngest of ten siblings, and everyone called him Decimo.
Too small to join his brothers’ games, he spent his days with his grandfather in the old house on the hills. From up there, his gaze could wander over the valley and stop at the tall bell tower rising above the thick forest of Cymatic Hills.
Yes, this very hill. And yes, this very forest.
His grandfather often told him the story of the Mystery of the Enchanted Bell Tower, his favorite. Once upon a time, he said, the forest was full of life: the tree would bloom at the sound of the bells, and the birds would sing at each chime.
But then something terrible happened. The Witch of the Silent Hills came from the neighboring valleys. Jealous of such beauty and harmony, she cast a terrible spell on the forest and all its creatures.
From that day on, the trees stopped growing, and all the animals were turned to stone, trapped forever in their own bodies. The forest was wrapped in an unreal silence, and the bell tower fell silent forever.
Only someone brave enough to interpret the Witchspells hidden along the woodland paths could ever awaken that sleeping world again!
Decimo had never dared enter the forest, but every time he looked at it, he could hear the distant echo of the bells. A desire grew inside him: he would look at Ombra, his faithful dog, and wonder if one day he would find the courage.
That day had come.
Follow in Decimo’s footsteps and solve the riddles along the path. With each challenge, you’ll earn a number: collect them all—you’ll need them to awaken the forest!
